Animal Portraits
My fascination with painting with oils began in Ottawa when at a
young age I used to wander through the Ottawa National Art Gallery for hours on
end, mainly in the Canadian Painters and Impressionists' sections. I traveled a lot, and always made a point of visiting art galleries wherever I went.
I started painting and showing in the '80's eventually moving to the Pontiac, in Quebec.
I had several exhibitions when I lived in Ottawa. I stretch and Gesso my own canvases, and use fine quality linen
and rough cotton depending on the results I want. I also like pine panels for
smaller works. All works are done from photos I have taken in my travels.

I had to cut four inches off the top, it looks good now, but I have to call it a second, or a brilliant failure.
